Twin Cities Angels II, LLC Makes its first Investment in Minnesota Start-up Company
Minnesota-Based Angel Group Closes Membership on it’s Second Fund

MINNEAPOLIS, (February 16, 2010) – Twin Cities Angels II, LLC (“TCA-II”) today announced the closing of its first investment in, Ativa, an early-stage Minnesota-based companies.  With the closing of TCA-II’s first investment, the Fund is now closed to new members.

Twin Cities Angels II’s first investment is in Ativa Medical Corporation, an early stage company developing a novel medical diagnostic system based in St. Paul, MN.  (www.ativamed.com).  David Deetz, CEO of Ativa stated, “We are very pleased to have TCA as an investor in our company.  Angel investors such as TCA are critical to the success of early stage companies like Ativa Medical and to maintaining Minnesota’s leadership in medical technology innovation.”  

John Alexander, Founder and Chairman of Twin Cities Angels II, LLC said, “Our members have been pleased with the quality of companies we have been reviewing since we launched Twin Cities Angels in 2006 and especially those we have seen since May 2009 and reviewed by our current Fund…..  With the closing of our first investments, we close our organization to new members through the life of this fund.  It is a sign of success of our business model that angel investors have made TCA-II almost 25% larger in membership than our first fund.  We open again to new members once we create our next fund.”  TCA-II anticipates investing in 15 companies over the next 2 plus years.
